Your company data

Fields marked * are required. All amounts in € million.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation

Example: for EBITDA of €400,000, enter 0.4.

Adjust earnings (optional)

Buyers value your company on the basis of adjusted EBITDA. Typical adjustments raise or lower the starting figure. Amounts in € million.

Difference from a market-rate managing director’s salary, including allowances for working hours, entrepreneurial risk and social security. If your salary is lower, enter the difference as a negative figure.

e.g. insurance payouts, property sales, released provisions. We deduct the amount from EBITDA.

e.g. restructuring costs, litigation costs, relocation, one-off effects from the pandemic.

If the company pays more rent than the market rate, enter the difference as a positive figure. If it pays less, enter it as a negative figure, e.g. −0.1.

Salaries or services on non-market terms: enter costs that are too high as a positive figure and costs that are too low as a negative figure. Please enter your own salary and rent in the fields above.

e.g. private use of company cars, private travel or insurance the business does not need.

What is left for you? (optional)

Bank debt is deducted from the enterprise value and cash is added. The result is roughly the price for your shares.

All interest-bearing debt, before deducting your cash.

Do these statements apply to you? (optional)

These points are not included in the calculation. The result shows the discount they can cause.

Please select the industry and enter annual revenue and EBITDA.

How the calculator works

  1. 1

What buyers pay in your industry

The starting point is the middle half of the multiples at which listed comparable companies in your industry are valued. 15 industries, our own calculation, as of October 2026.

  2. 2

    Adjustment to your company

Your revenue growth compared with the industry raises or lowers the multiple. Listed companies are usually valued higher than private mid-sized companies. We therefore apply a discount for private mid-sized companies of 0 to 30%, depending on revenue.

  3. 3

    Equity bridge

Bank debt is deducted from the enterprise value and cash is added. The equity bridge is based on the practice note of the Valuation working group of the Bundesverband Mergers & Acquisitions (BMA). Mathias Westerbarkei contributed to it as a member of the working group.
