For specialists: methodology, discount and documents
For each industry we include 6 to 15 listed comparable companies (peers) that represent the industry segment in a European and international context.
For each company we relate the enterprise value (market capitalisation plus net financial debt) to EBITDA and revenue over the last twelve months (LTM). The range is the middle half of the peer group, that is, the 25th to 75th percentile (interquartile range).
Listed companies are usually valued higher than private mid-sized companies (liquidity, size, diversification). We therefore apply a discount of 26.1% to the stock market values, based on Dodel (2008).
